Meet Dr. Abdallah Abou-Taouk, Quotation Engineer & Systems Engineer.
In the beginning of February 2023 Abdallah, also called Abbe, started as a Quotation Engineer at Nilsson Energy. The role is new and includes, among other things analyzing the customer needs, which they don't always know themselves, energy calculations to create and present cost effective renewable energy systems with hydrogen as the energy carrier.
Abbe has a Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering from Chalmers. He completed his PhD in applied mechanics in 2014 with a focus on gas turbines with renewable fuels. He has a background as a calculation engineer from GKN Aerospace and has the past ten years worked as a senior research engineer at Azelio which is specialized within energy storage with electricity and heat production.
Why did you choose Nilsson Energy?
I got in touch with Nilsson Energy partly because they work with renewable energy solutions just like my previously employer. I thought that Nilsson Energy was an interesting company who are part of driving the change to a fossil free society. Green hydrogen is and will be an important piece of the puzzle to handle our emissions and and become carbon neutral in the future. Nilsson Energy has already created systems which work for real and not only in theory.
Before I signed I had a few offers to take in to consideration. During the interviews for Nilsson Energy I got a good feeling about the coworkers and the company. Now when I have worked for 2 months it isn't what I imagined, it is many times better and more fun, laughs Abbe.
Everyday is a new and inspiring day, the only thing I know for certain is that it's not what I imagined on my way to work in the morning. So far I have had many exiting meetings, both with potential clients and with my colleagues. My technical background has been an important part for the new role, it has given me the right tools to understand the clients needs and apply them to give different energy system solutions.
I also have to highlight the inspiration and motivation that I get from the three co-founders and the rest of the colleagues that have a solid knowledge about system integration for hydrogen and shares their knowledge. It's incredibly inspiring and I learn a lot and develop every day. Everybody is generous and even though I haven't worked here for long I already feel like one in the team.

Everyone looking for new challenges, who want a varied, exiting and developing job with nice colleagues should apply. The fact that you also help to create a more sustainable world isn't too bad either.
